Turn on Apple Intelligence for Lampira

Last updated: 17 July 2026 · Applies to Lampira for iPhone, iPad and Mac · Читать по-русски

Before you start

Apple Intelligence lets Lampira answer questions about your notes entirely on your device — nothing leaves it, and there is nothing to subscribe to. It just needs to be switched on once in Settings. You'll need:

Supported languages: English (US, UK, Australia) · German · French (France, Canada) · Spanish (Spain, US, Latin America) · Italian · Japanese · Korean · Portuguese (Brazil, Portugal) · Chinese (Simplified, Traditional) · Dutch · Danish · Norwegian · Swedish · Turkish · Vietnamese

💡

Russian and Lithuanian aren't supported yet — but that only concerns the system language. Set your device to, say, English (UK) and keep writing your notes in any language you like. Lampira works with your notes either way.

Setting it up

  1. Set your device language

Open Settings → General → Language & Region → iPhone Language and pick a supported language — for example English (UK). If your device is already in a supported language, skip this step.

  2. Set Siri to the same language

Open Settings → Apple Intelligence & Siri → Language and pick exactly the same language, including the region.

    ⚠️

This is the rule that trips almost everyone (it caught us too). English (US) on the device with English (UK) for Siri means no Apple Intelligence toggle at all — the two must match exactly.

  3. Restart your device

Switch the device fully off and back on.

    💡

The Apple Intelligence toggle often appears only after a restart — even when everything else is set correctly. Restart even if nothing seems wrong.

  4. Turn on Apple Intelligence

Go back to Settings → Apple Intelligence & Siri. The Apple Intelligence switch now appears at the top of the screen — turn it on.

    💡

On iOS 26 the switch may turn on automatically after the restart. If it's already on — you're ahead of schedule.

  5. Let the model download

Keep the device on Wi-Fi and on the charger while the on-device model downloads. Progress shows in that same Apple Intelligence & Siri pane. It usually takes 15–60 minutes.

  6. Open Lampira

Open Lampira → Settings → Intelligence. The Apple Intelligence row flips to On automatically — Lampira re-checks every time you return to it, so there is nothing to configure in the app itself.

Troubleshooting

ProblemWhat to try
The toggle still isn't there
  • Double-check that the device and Siri languages match exactly — English (UK) and English (US) count as different languages here.
  • Restart the device once more.
  • Check Settings → Screen Time → Content & Privacy Restrictions — a restriction on Apple Intelligence hides the toggle entirely.
  • Make sure at least 7 GB of storage is free.
  • Wait up to 24 hours — Apple enables some devices server-side, and it can lag behind a correct setup.
Status stuck on “Downloading” Leave the device on Wi-Fi and the charger overnight — the model downloads in the background at Apple's pace, and power + network is what unblocks it.
“Not supported on this iPhone” The hardware can't run Apple Intelligence. You're not out of options: connect a free model running on your own computer instead — see the guide below. Lampira gives you the same private answers either way.
