The connector address is the same for all four assistants — what differs is the subscription you need and where the “add connector” button hides. Each card links to a full walkthrough below.

Custom connectors in ChatGPT live behind developer mode, available on the paid plans — Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise/Edu. On Business/Enterprise a workspace admin may first need to allow developer mode for your account.
-
Turn on developer mode
In ChatGPT, open Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced settings and switch Developer mode on. (OpenAI keeps reshuffling this corner: in the newest builds apps are managed under Plugins — the developer-mode toggle and the create button live there.)
-
Create the connector
Back in Apps & Connectors, choose Create, name it Lampira, and set the MCP server URL to
https://lampira.space/mcp. Pick OAuth as authentication — ChatGPT discovers everything else automatically. -
Sign in and allow
ChatGPT sends you to lampira.space: sign in (or create an account on the spot) and press Allow. The consent screen lists exactly what ChatGPT may do — create, list, read and delete notes in your inbox. Nothing more.
-
Use it in a chat
Enable Lampira for the conversation via the tools/plus menu and ask ChatGPT to save notes or flashcards to Lampira. In developer mode ChatGPT asks you to confirm before it writes a note — that's normal. Added on the web, the connector works in the mobile apps too.
B.Claude (claude.ai)
Claude accepts custom connectors on every plan, including Free — the free plan allows one custom connector. On Team/Enterprise only an organization Owner can add it, after which each member connects their own Lampira account.
-
Open the connector settings
On claude.ai, open Settings → Connectors (in the sidebar menu under your name; on Team/Enterprise your admin may manage this under Organization settings).
-
Add the custom connector
Click Add custom connector, paste
https://lampira.space/mcpas the URL, and confirm with Add. No advanced settings are needed. -
Sign in and allow
Click Connect next to Lampira. A Lampira page opens: sign in (or create an account on the spot), then press Allow. The consent screen lists exactly what Claude may do — create, list, read and delete notes in your inbox. Nothing more.
-
Use it in a chat
In a conversation, open the + (tools) menu, choose Connectors, and toggle Lampira on. Then just ask: “Make flashcards about the Krebs cycle and save them to Lampira.”
C.Grok (grok.com)
Grok takes custom MCP connectors on paid plans — SuperGrok, bought standalone or included with X Premium+. On Grok Business/Enterprise a team admin provisions the connector in the xAI console first; members then connect their own accounts.
-
Open the connectors page
Sign in on grok.com/connectors with your SuperGrok / X Premium+ account.
-
Add the custom connector
Click New Connector, choose Custom, name it Lampira, and paste
https://lampira.space/mcpas the server URL. -
Sign in and allow
Grok opens the Lampira sign-in page: log in and press Allow. The consent screen lists the same four inbox actions — create, list, read, delete — and nothing else.
-
Use it in a chat
Grok picks the tools up automatically in your next conversation — on the web and in the iOS/Android apps. Just ask: “Save these flashcards to Lampira.”
D.Gemini (Google)
Support expected in the regular Gemini chat. Google has not yet opened custom MCP connectors in the everyday Gemini app — on the Free, AI Plus and AI Pro tiers there is currently no way to add one. Today custom apps exist only inside Gemini Spark, the always-on agent for Google AI Ultra subscribers, currently a US-only beta. If that's your setup, the steps below work right now; if not, the quickest workaround is Claude's free plan (section B). We'll update this page as soon as Google opens the main app.
-
Check the requirements
A Google AI Ultra subscription with Gemini Spark access, in the US, aged 18+, on a personal Google Account (work and school accounts won't work), with Keep Activity switched on.
-
Add the custom app
On gemini.google.com open Settings & help → Connected apps and, under Custom apps for Spark, choose Add a custom app. Paste
https://lampira.space/mcpand follow the on-screen steps. -
Sign in and allow
Sign in with your Lampira account and press Allow — the consent screen lists the four inbox actions only.
-
Use it in Spark
Lampira becomes available to Gemini Spark on the web and in the mobile app (connect via the web app first). Spark asks you to confirm every write action before a note is created.
What the AI can do
The connector exposes exactly four actions, and they all touch only your inbox:
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
| create_note | Writes a new note (Markdown) into your inbox. Cloze lines like {{c1::…}} become flashcards when you import the note. |
| list_inbox | Shows the notes waiting in your inbox — only those created through the connector and not yet imported. |
| get_note | Reads back the full text of one waiting inbox note. |
| delete_note | Removes a waiting inbox note — for example to replace it with a better version. |
Privacy
Your existing notes never leave your device. Lampira is local-first: the AI cannot see, search or change anything already in your library.
Only notes the AI creates through the connector pass through the lampira.space inbox — and they wait there just until your app picks them up. You can disconnect at any moment by removing the connector in your AI's settings; deleting your Lampira account erases the inbox and every access token with it.
Troubleshooting
| What you see | What to try |
|---|---|
| The connector won't add / “could not connect” | Check the URL is exactly https://lampira.space/mcp — no trailing slash, no extra path. Then retry; a brief server restart can interrupt the first handshake. |
| Sign-in page loops or the Allow button fails | Your browser session expired mid-flow. Reload the page, sign in again and press Allow once more. Private/incognito windows that block cookies will loop — allow cookies for lampira.space. |
| The AI says the tool call was unauthorized | The access token was revoked or expired (tokens live 90 days and die when you delete your account). Remove the Lampira connector and add it again to reconnect. |
| Notes don't appear in the app | Open Lampira and let it sync — the inbox is pulled when the app comes to the foreground. Ask the AI to run list_inbox: if the note is listed there, it simply hasn't been picked up yet; if not, it was never created — ask again. |
| “The inbox is full” | The inbox holds up to 200 waiting notes. Open the app so it imports them, or ask the AI to delete the ones you don't need. |
| Grok: no way to add a custom connector | Custom connectors need a paid plan — SuperGrok or X Premium+. On Grok Business/Enterprise ask your team admin to add Lampira in the xAI console first. |
| Gemini: no “Add a custom app” button | Custom apps appear only for Google AI Ultra subscribers with Gemini Spark (US, personal account, Keep Activity on). The regular Gemini chat can't add custom connectors yet — see section D. |
